What can I receive?
- Once per calendar month, participants may receive a 3-day supply of food, measured by family size.
- Our food follows a healthy food guideline.
- Participants may select which food items you want with our choice pantry service model.
- Daily food items are available to anyone, any time the pantry is open. This program is critically important for several reasons
- Healthier Foods: Pantry on the Go allows for quick distribution of large quantities of fresh produce that could otherwise spoil, as well as other high-quality, nutritious foods.
- Simplified Process: We do all the heavy lifting for partner sites, making it easier to meet the need in their community.
- Improved Access: Pantry on the Go helps reduces transportation barriers for those without easy access to stationary food pantries, and/or who are in underserved geographic areas.
EduCare gives individuals and families the opportunity to grow through a variety of educational classes in the areas of money management, health and wellness, spiritual growth, nutrition, and healthy relationships. Some of these classes are free and individuals may participate as space allows.
If you have knowledge or skills to share and want to positively impact your community, consider volunteering to teach a class for Real Life Center clients! Classes are typically open group discussion format, with topics landing in the categories of spiritual, relational, emotional, physical, or financial.

Holidays and Inclement Weather
EduCare is closed in observance of the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, the day following Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
In the event of inclement weather, check our website for more information about closings. We typically follow the Montgomery County Government policies but may decide to close if the conditions are not safe for travel.
If you need food
You will speak with one of our referral representatives, who will ask you some simple questions:
1. whether you are a Montgomery County resident
2. whether your income falls below what is necessary to be self-sufficient
3. which day and location is most convenient for you to pick up your food
Please call EduCare’s main office during regular business hours at (240) 450-2092. We need to receive your call by 3:00 pm the day before you would like to receive food so we can have your order ready.
When you come to pick up food, you need a photo ID with your current Montgomery County address, or provide a document that proves you currently reside in the county. If you cannot pick up your food on the day scheduled, you must call EduCare in order to reschedule your pick up.
